最近最火的一本新上市的小说应该就是这本了吧，3月2日包括中译本全球同步上市。偶然之间看到有一个有声书的资源，本来计划今年每个月选一个诺奖作家的，就把石黑一雄当作三月份的吧。

故事从一个名叫Klara的AI的角度讲的故事，Klara的作用就是陪伴小朋友。她的小朋友身患疾病，于是她就向太阳许愿想要小朋友好起来，为此她愿意牺牲。与此同时，小朋友的妈妈之前其实已经失去过一个孩子了，这次怕自己承受不了，准备了一条备用的计划，就是万一小朋友死掉，就让Klara住进一个长得和小朋友一样的躯体让Klara假装是小朋友。最后的结局是小朋友身体奇迹般地好了起来，健康长大成人去外地上大学，Klara被遗弃孤身，唯有回忆相伴。

首先，不得不说这个故事非常流畅，让人想要也可以很快地读完。大家都知道石黑一雄的作品风格蛮多元的，可以写很英式传统的，也可以写神话科幻类的，而这本书整个的氛围和《Never Let Me Go》的太像了。前者讲的也是类似科幻设定，一批小朋友的成长，长大才发现其实他们是被当作器官仓库而培养起来的克隆人，然后他们心中一直有一个传说一样的地方要去许愿。这个故事里的Klara，为了小朋友的健康，要到太阳下山的地方对着太阳许愿，简直没什么两样啊。

这里的微妙之处，是克隆人和AI的区别？一开始的时候，作者就在试图强调这个主人公作为AI的特别之处，那就是Klara总能观察到别的AI观察不到的人类细腻和微妙的情感，这是不是在赋予这个主人公很人性的一部分呢。而且把Klara当作第一人称视角的描述，更让读者不自觉地把Klara当作一个有血有肉的人来看待。于是就出现了很矛盾的一个地方：如果从人的角度出发，Klara诉求太阳的时候用的是很情绪化的真爱路线（甚至有点圣母了），她那么容易就答应要代替小朋友的计划让人觉得很惊讶；如果从AI的角度出发，她那么迷信都市传说也就罢了，但怎么会不知道污染机器不止一个。故事的结尾，Klara和她还在店里面的经理多年后重逢，她回顾关于复制顶替小朋友的计划，说她最后的领悟是特别的东西不在小朋友身上，而在爱小朋友的人们的心中。这样的领悟又把自己跳开了，因为这本书肯定不是在探讨AI是否有人性有人格，而最终的归结点还是人本身。之前听到在瀑布旁边，小朋友的妈妈要求Klara模仿扮演小朋友的时候，就已经觉得非常恐怖了。后面真相公布的时候，对于爸爸的抵触我一开始觉得蛮正常的，后来才反转发现他对这个计划那么生气，是因为他相信这个计划在科学上的可行性，而觉得妈妈是很老派的总有一天会接受不了。
